Lenovo V15 G4 Core i7 13th Generation Laptop 

The V15 G4 from Lenovo gets a new iteration with the likes of Intel’s new 13th Generation of Raptor Lake Processors, which is then combined with capable DDR4 memory to result in an overall competent machine.

Design

The device boasts a Business Black appearance that adds stealthiness to the design and the textured surface provides more grip to the surface. The top and bottom being constructed from ABS Plastic the overall package is very easily moveable from one place to the other.

13th Generation Core i7 CPU

The processor of choice for the Lenovo V15 G4 is the Intel Core i7 1355U, which prioritizes the efficiency of the power consumed on top of performance. This is all thanks to the set of 2 performance cores 8 efficiency cores, 12 threads, and 12 MB of Intel Smart Cache. The configuration of efficiency cores is in a way that they only function when they are required to.

The performance ones are clocked at 1.7 GHz, which overclocks to a maximum of 5.0 GHz, all thanks to Intel’s Turbo Boost Technology, Meanwhile, the power draw is varied between 15 watts and 55 watts. The overclocking also ensures decent single-core, multicore, and multithreaded functionality.

The graphically associated operations are executed with the help of the integrated Intel UHD Graphics which come with a Graphics Max Dynamic Frequency of 1.3 GHz, this allows the system to handle such in the absence of a discrete GPU.

Memory & Storage

The system is configured with 8GB of onboard Soldered DDR4 memory that is clocked at a transfer rate of 3200MHz. While one is soldered to the system board, one DDR4 DIMM can also be added in the empty DDR4 slot, to complement the dual channel capabilities of the CPU.

On the other hand, the PCIe Gen 4.0×4 2242 M.2 Solid State Drive acts as a storage drive with a capacity of 512 GB.  On top of that the system also allows the addition of another 2.5-inch HDD to expand the capacity for mass storage.

Display

The screen displaying all of the content is the 15.6-inch TN Panel, at a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080. For handling difficult lighting environments, it is integrated with a max achievable brightness of 250 nits with the support for Anti-glare for lesser reflections, and a 45% coverage of the NTSC space.

Keyboard and Trackpad

It comes with the Non-backlit, full-size English (UK) keyboard, and a buttonless Mylar® surface multi-touch fully clickable touchpad with multi-gesture support. Precision TouchPad (PTP), 62 x 104 mm (2.44 x 4.09 inches) is also supported.

Battery

The system comes integrated with a 38 Wh battery which is recharged using the 65W Round Tip (3-pin) AC Adapter.

Other Specs

The audio production is managed by the High Definition (HD) Audio, Realtek® ALC3287 codec, and the output through Stereo speakers, of 3 watts, which also support Dolby Audio. The included webcam records at HD 720p and also comes with a physical Privacy Shutter, and 2x, Array of digital microphones.

The included port situation consists of 1x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1, 1x USB-C® 3.2 Gen 1 (support data transfer, Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort™ 1.2), 1x HDMI® 1.4b, 1x Headphone/microphone combo jack (3.5mm),  1x Ethernet (RJ-45). While the wireless channel is carried over the 11ac 2×2 + BT5.1 wireless card.
